The craftsmanship of work was a great process
we watched a movie on this it was amazing to watch the process they make this in, I'd like to explore more of this techniques in print making class.
Artist uses naturally made dye, that is another style I would like to explore.

Dame Robin White
Traditional Pacific island bark cloth stenciled with designs depicting a vision of a "New Garden" was one of the artworks commissioned for a prestigious exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery. Prominent New Zealand artist Robin White was invited to participate, with organizers mentioning a possible collaboration with a tapa artist from Fiji. BOU FONUA - TONGA
Bou selected Feta’aki for her design, a papery material made from the bark of hte Mulberry tree, and lined with raw silk. “I draw my inspiration from my Tongan roots and ensure that each piece carries my signature motifs. I have revamped our traditional Tongan Puletaha and given a modern interpretation.” she says. Bou’s designs are traditionally inspired hand painted prints.
MICHEL TUFFERY
Michel Tuffery is a New Zealand-based artist of Samoan, Rarotongan and Ma’ohi Tahitian heritage.His art practice he plays the role of working “in between” people and places, and focusing a fresh lens on environmental, community, cultural and art historical divides.
