IDENTITY AS A PHOTOGRAPHER AS AN ARTIST

TRYING TO UNDERSTAND SOCIAL PERCEPTION OF NUDITY


•The subject matter (whole body verses body parts) ART OR PORNOGRAPHY
•Is it the execution of the art that makes nudity acceptable
•Medium used, photography, sculpture, film or painting
•How it is displayed and viewed – Isn't art Subjective?
•From Public Outcry to Priceless ART - Is art like a good wine, gets better with age?
•Nipple is a Nipple; or is it? Does Gender have a role to play?

Oxford dictionary definitions



Nude wearing no clothes (painting of a nude model) Naked human figure, typically as the subject of a painting, sculpture or photograph. ("nude | Definition of nude in English by Oxford Dictionaries," n.d.)

Art  The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. Typically visual form, such as painting or sculpture. ("art | Definition of art in English by Oxford Dictionaries," n.d.) 

Pornography visual or printed material containing explicit material, such as a description or sexual activity, intended to stimulate sexual excitement.  The origin of pornography came from the 19th century Greek pornography (writing about prostitutes” ("pornography | Definition of pornography in English by Oxford Dictionaries," n.d.) 



•I conclude that this is a huge subject to research the theory behind the mind set and Who gets to decide if nudity is ART OR PORNOGRAPHY?
•It is up to the viewer/spectator to decide if they deem the work they are viewing as art or pornography?  Are they just getting visual pleasure from viewing the art or has it aroused a sexual pleasure within??
•There are many factors that go into the decision, culture, religion, social status, medium used to display art  (video, photography, sculptor etc)  and or notoriety of the artist.
•I will complete a series of art work of the nude form in several different mediums and display these publicly and get feed back via maybe a type of questionnaire?

digital 03/04/2019 bva242 week Eight ALICE IN WONDERLAND INSPIRATIONAL IMAGE https://fishki.net/2760771-5-mrachnyh-interpritacij-alisy-v-strane-chudes.html We carried the props into the bush near Oreti Beach.  I set up the scene and took the photo of the frame on its own, but so I can get the same lighting on the frame.  So in the frame there is a picture of a clock, mad haters hat, the cat and I a rabbit.  outside is the tea cup.  I wanted the inside of the framed area no colour as it was to symbolized Alice escaping from there and the queen of hearts helping her, but her true intentions was to use the knife on her once she got her out.  I drew the rabbit and took a pic of my cat and adjusted in liquefy layer and adjusted colours to look like the cat from Alice in Wonderland.  The frame was only small so I adjusted in the transition tool and warp tool.  Then added shadows to the ground to make it seem like the sun had cast lighting over...

THEORY BVA213 WEEK 14  21/10/2019 (SEMESTER TWO) I do have a model release for the photographs I have taken, but I chose not to put in my blog for privacy issues for the model.   All photographs were taken with a canon camera settings ISO 200 ,SHUTTER 200, F-STOP 4.5,WB flash and raw files.  They were taken in my home studio and then edited and converted to black and white or selected colour.
