Gayle Clearwater Internship report

I have attached my current resume, online portfolio, cover letters for job vacancies and internships.  On my resume I did not put the link to my linkedin account, as I am still completing the online profile.   and it is not up to standard.

I believe I easily cover these skills, I am required to fulfil these in my day to day life studying, working at the Riverton Art Centre and in my previous employment.  This internship is in Christchurch and this will help give me work experience in the Art Gallery field and since I have had experience with this I would be keen to take up a roll in a gallery in the future.

Pasifika Internship Programme

Delivered by Tautai Contemporary Pacific Arts Trust, on behalf of Creative New Zealand, this programme supports Pasifika practitioners to embark on a career in the arts as managers and administrators. Tautai works with the interns to identify a suitable host organisation and prepare for their internship, providing support throughout the 20-week placement.
For more information on how to apply to be an intern or a host organisation contact Director@Tautai.org
“These internships are vital in that they not only provide wonderful professional development opportunities for those interested in working in arts administration, but also bolster the presence of Pacific people within the sector.”

Even though I do not have Pasifika heritage, I have worked alongside many different cultures and people.  Since studying through SIT it has given me more understanding of the culture and heritage, but also the importance of displaying artefacts and artworks correctly and I read this great article about
MUSEUMS AND MÄORI, HERITAGE PROFESSIONALS, INDIGENOUS COLLECTIONS CURRENT PRACTICE by CONAL MCCARTHY.  Also there will be some unique experiences that will give me more understanding and help me in a chosen field of a museum and gallery assistant/curator.
