Students
will build on the foundation of the first-year drawing paper to reinforce
and expand their observational, analytical and creative skills and
knowledge. Students will utilise practical drawing tools in thematic and
conceptual projects to explore the use of drawing as an art form. Students
will analyse and identify the visual language used in a range of historic
and contemporary drawing practices to begin to develop their own
‘voice’ within drawing practice.
|
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful
completion of this paper, students will be able to:
·
Produce and
analyse drawing as art forms
·
Analyse
visual language for developing practitioners’ own ‘voice’
·
Identify
and evaluate relevance of historical and contemporary practices
·
Utilise journaling as an active practice-based
research method
|
Source for developing expressive statements; explore
drawing as an art form significance of drawing in own practice; journaling
as practice-based research method.
Identified relevant practitioners; analyse drawing
practices to identify the use of visual language; progress development of
own ‘voice’ within drawing practice.
|
ATTENDANCE
At least 80% attendance is required. Students who are over ten minutes late,
without prior agreement from the Tutor, will be recorded as absent. A doctor’s
certificate may be requested.
